Love how silent films are regaining popularity; especially with younger audiences.

Last time our daughter came up, we showed her Keaton’s The Neighbors. Last night it we watched The Goat.

She’s a big fan of Metropolis.

Honored that there was cake served after last night's showing of "Sunrise" (1927) at Bowdoin College! Kudos to Prof. Tricia Welsch (also an SCWP superfan) for arranging for this and for everything else yesterday. It was great getting to share silent film with both of her Film Studies classes!

This is so wonderful! She was my professor in the early ‘00s and one of the best profs I ever had. I’m so glad she’s still doing things like this!

Big news: this year's Ernie Kovacs award will be presented to Fred Armisen! I will be at the Dallas Video Festival event on November 22, and playing for Keaton's "The Cameraman" the night before. Details are at www.dallasobserver.com/arts-culture...

Murnau at Bowdoin! Looking forward to playing for students by day and for "Sunrise" by night. We're running the feature at the speed Murnau wanted, 100 ft/min (around 27 fps).

Happy Silent Movie Day! The National Film Preservation Foundation hired me to score 2 rare silents for their online screening room to celebrate. Here's the other one, "Way Out West" (1920) starring Hank Mann.

The Undercrank Productions restoration of "Father Was a Loafer" with Billie Ritchie will screen at the Pordenone silent film festival. My new blog post (in my comment below) has the scoop! This film was part of our 2018 Alice Howell homevid project.

Print Magazine has posted a great interview with Marlene Weisman, the brilliant artist who's designed all the covers for my Blu-rays & DVDs as well as the one for my book. Steve Heller is a legend in the field, himself, and I'm thrilled that he's featured Marlene.

My second time playing there, all thanks to Prof. Tricia Welsch, who will also have me as guest speaker-accompanist at her classes. Show details are at calendar.bowdoin.edu/event/ben-mo...

Tonight's film is "Underworld" (1928) at the Library of Congress Packard Campus Theater! I spent the day viewing and researching the LoC's holdings on some comedy shorts for an upcoming project, as well.
