It's November, & you know what that means!

Yup. Time to start thinking about ordering your holiday eels!
Henry III knew. In November of 1256 the king ordered up 5,000 small eels from Ely, to be sent to him for the Jan. 6 feast of St. Edward.

Only the best for the Confessor.

This well-preserved early medieval wooden flask once contained a beer that had been strengthened with honey.
It was found in Trossingen. Due to the water-logged condition of the area, many wooden objects have survived.

Dating 580 AD

Matt Berry and Peter Capaldi read the (apocryphal) 1675 exchange between the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and the Zaporozhian Cossacks.
Yes, it is as brilliant as it sounds.
Warning: naughty cheeky words being used, cover your ears.

Well look at that, bluesky has a tool that labels AI created stuff.
Facebook needs this, that place is truly drowning in fake AI created "old photos".

Please don't call what RFK Jr. and Jay Bhattacharya are going to do medieval. It's not medieval. It's nothing like the Middle Ages. People in the Middle Ages were happy to try all kinds of things to not die of the plague and if you'd given them antibiotics and vaccines they would have loved it.

Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.

I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc

When I think about Joe & Mika appeasing Trump so they can maintain their comfy lives, I think about Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss enduring years of harassment for simply doing their jobs.

So when Joe defends it by saying people need to live in the real world, he should respectfully go screw himself.

Out of every national election some institutions decay and die, while others emerge and grow stronger. Legacy media is a sad example of the former. Bluesky is a hopeful example of the latter.

Right-wingers are not coming to this platform for any reason other than to be obnoxious trolls to people who just want to be left alone. They are not here for any useful or constructive purpose. They only want to tear down and insult. It’s all they know. It’s how they live.

Not to ruin the wonderfully positive vibes on this site, but is anyone else here concerned that American society, politics, and culture have become morally and psychologically addled?

I have a question for the #GastroSky #GISky folks.

Have been on Stelara for 6 months, and developed more fistulas. Have only developed fistulas due to biologics.

Is there a better biologic for this? My guts feel better than they have in a decade but my bum, not so much.

Thoughts?
