I don't even know what to say about @aaron.bsky.team announcing that actually they feed all images posted on Bsky into an AI that just a year ago they told everyone they had banned from using Bsky images

You have no way of knowing! And it’s not like you can ask for a refund.
Some of the ones I saw on Reddit also say things like “30 easy patterns for beginners,” which is extra cruel

I wrote about “Predatory Data” by @anitachan.bsky.social in Nature’s summer reading list. Such a great work demonstrating the persistence of eugenics in all its many forms while offering a better way forwards.

Maybe not a fun beach read, but absolutely essential for these times.
