Fascinating session with colleagues today, mapping out a blueprint for our #socialprescribing service for people with persistent physical symptoms (eg chronic pain). A strong theme of listening and validating emerging with this client group.

New poll shows 83% of people think organisations which prioritise social purpose over profit should be the NHS’s primary suppliers of goods and services. But we need to recognise and tackle the barriers to effective partnership if this is going to be achieved www.civilsociety.co.uk/news/poll-su...

I know I’m biased, but this is a really interesting listen. Particularly hearing the experience of testing social prescribing with people who have persistent physical symptoms (eg chronic pain), an innovation that has real potential 👇

I always take a look at NCVO’s annual ‘the Road Ahead’ report, as a really good overview of financial, social and political issues for the voluntary sector to consider. This year’s issue is just out, and well worth a read: www.ncvo.org.uk/news-and-ins...

Can’t beat a bit of time in nature at any time of year, but a (mostly) sunny spring day is particularly special.

An older woman stands in front of plants with some pottery she has made in her hand. She has short hair and is smiling. She is wearing glasses, a blue hoodie and a denim apron which has pottery marks all over it. An older man socialises in the street. He is wearing glasses and has a grey hoodie and shirt on. He has a beard. He is speaking to a man standing to his left. An older woman dances in an exercise class. She has short hair and is wearing floral patterned leggings and a matching top. Behind her other woman are also dancing. An older woman hula hoops outside. She has black hair and is wearing black leggings and a blue top. Behind her a man is skipping. He is wearing black trousers and a red t-shirt.

Highlight of the last week: playing bass guitar with my daughter’s school band, at The Glasshouse. The event was a Chinese New Year Gala, and the children sang partly in Mandarin…v impressive! Getting to perform on the Sage 1 stage was a definite bucket list ☑️
Backstage door with a sign saying ‘A very warm welcome. Today you are in Gateshead. The name of the venue is The Glasshouse International Centre for Music. Enjoy your time with us making amazing memories.’
