I like that they put in the shadow map interaction on the cars. Hard to see but it looks slightly better than per-vertex, maybe they are drawing a bit of depth into the imposters?

I talked to Glen Schofield about maybe the most fascinating and volatile moment of FPS history - when he took the reins of the world's most anticipated game amid the breakdown of Infinity Ward. www.pcgamer.com/games/call-o...

RPS used to have carefully crafted weekly round-ups of interesting deals on cool indie games. Now it has an entire section devoted to advertising Amazon.

Almost every games site has one of these articles or worse, a whole damn live blog! Grim.

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

Just the sort of email I want to get from Unity on my day off.
An important message
A security vulnerability was identified that affects games and applications built on Unity versions 2017.1 and later for Android, Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. There is no evidence of any exploitation of the vulnerability, nor has there been any impact on users or customers. We have proactively provided fixes that address the vulnerability, and they are already available to all developers. The vulnerability was responsibly reported by the security researcher RyotaK, and we thank him for working with us.

for anyone who hasn't seen these things happen before everything said by EA here is lies. not optimism, uncertainty, or naive confusion - just fully aware, calculated, researched, expert lying. no one in giant deals like this goes into it for business as usual or gets surprised by not planning ahead

I didn't know there was a Deus Ex remake coming out and I would like to return to that state.

Them having to remove it now once the "big reveal" is out.. is again absurd. The viewer is well aware something is off about what is happening. The reveal is for the character who has been lost in his wishful thinking. The episode is called "Ignorance Is Chris" for a reason.

The Peacemaker intro Fortnite saga is so pathetic.

The intro dance is an interpretation of the plot of the season, it was last season.

Them having to remove a swastika emote is obvious, but it's absurd it even went in. Why is Peacemaker even in Fortnight, it's an entirely adult show??

Not even that, (although we are getting into more of that soon as our loc testing continues). Just basic content size fitter stuff. Having to write a page of code to get basic functionality that other engines had 20 years ago. 😒

RIP renowned Italian film poster artist Renato Casaro.

Considered one of the most influential Italian poster designers, Casaro leaves behind a legacy of hand-painted artwork for thousands of films, including such classics as Conan the Barbarian, Octopussy, and A Fistful of Dollars.

He was 89.

Ahh yes. Trying to do an incredibly basic thing with Unity's GUI system and finding it impossible. Just to find a thread from 2011 asking why such a basic feature isn't implemented, and then scrolling down to find the necro-post from January saying "Sorry googlers they still haven’t fixed it".

Also bizarrely a couple people doing it are UK based British devs. 🤔

I wish I could mute people's reposts on here. Several devs that I love to follow log on, post a few good tweets of their own stuff, and then spend the day swamping everyone's feeds with American politics. I don't need to see another video of whoever your nazi borderforce beat up today.

Can everyone agree to please stop trusting Samsung devices and their batteries, and especially not to wrap them around your fingers?!
endora-bullshit.bsky.social
....i didn't realize this sort of thing was going on.....

i recommend *not* wearing a titanium ring with a lithium battery in it ?? and if it starts to swell while you're wearing it to absolutely not get on a plane ???

Ahhh…this is…not good.

My Samsung Galaxy Ring’s battery started swelling. While it’s on my finger 😬. And while I’m about to board a flight 😬

Now I cannot take it off and this thing hurts.

Any quick suggestions @SamsungUK
 @SamsungMobileUS
?

25+ years ago Electronic Arts was rich enough to pay Norman Foster's agency to design its Euro HQ building in UK countryside. It was shaped like an 'E'! Today, it's taking on $20bn in debt in a sale to private equity. Back then, EA was in the game. Now, EA is in the small print.

Also Dubai, despite being a human rights nightmare, has the stable legal frameworks in place for (relatively) safe foreign investment. The Saudis just can't get that working with how much can be upended on a royal whim (or death).
