It’s January first, and that means only one thing - here comes the CESpool of new weird electronics products.

When my younger kid went to daycare the front door was locked. They didn’t let anyone in that wasn’t a parent, staff, or someone else who should be there. And they certainly wouldn’t let any randos off the street inside to film.
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

I was the only one in my house to get the flu shot this year. (Stuff happens, it just didn’t get done, sorry)

I was the only one in my house in the last 10 days to not test positive for Flu A (or anything else).

The flu shot worked for me. It will probably work for you too.
Dr. Oz on the "super flu": "Every year there's a flu vaccine. It doesn't always work very well. That's why it's been controversial of late. But like many illnesses, the best news out there is if you can take care of yourself so that when you do end up running into the flu, you can overwhelm it."

Training to be an air traffic controller is, rightly, tough.

Doing so during the government shutdown proved a breaking point for as many as 500 trainees, a dent in efforts to boost ATC staffing.
Bedford: FAA lost hundreds of air traffic controller trainees during shutdown
“I think the thought of not being paid was enough to frighten them away,” the agency chief said.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

The National Park Service will offer free admission to U.S. residents on President Donald Trump’s birthday next year — which also happens to be Flag Day — but is eliminating the benefit for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth.

In a new phase 3 trial, people randomly assigned to receive a flu shot made with modified mRNA were 34.5% less likely to be diagnosed with an influenza-like illness than people given a standard flu shot made with inactivated virus.

We need to stop the anti-science attacks against mRNA vaccines!

How the fuck do you “smuggle” a supercomputer. They take up lots of rooms in very large buildings.
So here’s the scoop: Prosecutors have charged four individuals — two Americans and two Chinese nationals with secretly smuggling hundreds of Nvidia chips and ten HP supercomputers from the US to China.

I worry this is going to happen to US debt one day.
(Bloomberg) - About a month ago, BlackRock deemed the private debt it had extended to Renovo Home Partners, a struggling home improvement company, to be worth 100 cents on the dollar. As of last week, the firm had a new assessment: zero.

On one hand, thanks for problem solving. On the other hand, you’re precedent setting for airports to take over their ATC payroll which is probably not great from a system-wide standpoint.
Democratic members of CO's congressional delegation are calling on the FAA to approve Denver International Airport's plan to use its funds to pay air traffic controllers. #copolitics
