So much influenza out there.

Tragically, 3 paediatric deaths in our city (Ottawa) because of flu so far this season.

Please get your flu shot. Everyone 6 months + is eligible and encouraged to do so.

Doesn’t matter whether it is a perfect match - it is helpful to reduce seriousness of illness.

Canada’s premiers need to stop attacking the courts
From Alberta and Ontario to Quebec and British Columbia, Canada's premiers have been ratcheting up their anti-judge rhetoric. It won't lead us anywhere good.

Criticizing the courts is a lot like criticizing people who misread something you write or mishear something you wrote. Sure, maybe they could consider the context better or pay more attention. But probably, the fault mostly lies with you, the communicator (or the writer/administrator of the laws)

Three kids dead this month, just in our region.

It's never too late to start masking again, get your vaccinations and clean the air. Get a HEPA for your home this holiday season (if you can) and crack a window/run a fan. Wash your hands religiously.

All these measures prevent Covid, too!

“A statement that respiratory viruses are airborne needs to be issued by Public Health leaders so that public policies and personal behaviour can be properly informed”

YES!
Did you know the main route of transmission of respiratory illness is through the air?.
We call on public health to emphasise this root of transmission so people can take appropriate action to reduce spread of infection during this flu surge.

Covid-19 is currently being allowed to spread worldwide, without any control. As a result, repeated infections, impaired immunity, serious illness, and early mortality are increasingly rampant. Covid-19 clearly poses an extreme threat to the long-term survival of the human community

I remember being taught both spellings for words like ‘utilise’ and being told one was American and one British. Perhaps in the 70’s and 80’s we were eager to show independence from the UK, vis a vis patriating the constitution.

Being more American isn’t quite the selling point it used to be.

No, you're being asked to a) read the details of the MOU, and b) understand the political and economic landscape on which it exists.

If there's no deal around industrial pricing next year, the whole thing vanishes and the regulations you're pining over still go into force.
