Congrats to our very own @maxspohn.bsky.social for winning 3rd place in the Best Student Poster Award at @sjdm-tweets.bsky.social! 🏆 His research shows how partisans misjudge out-group ideological complexity, fueling distrust. Insights offer ways to reduce animosity. maxspohn.com/IdeologicalC...

First, Övül Sezer et al. reported #hiring experiments finding that #Fiver candidates who replied faster were more likely to get the #job, unless their reply was oddly long.

Follow Dr. Sezer on #Google scholar: scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=DEWGjOMAAAAJ

Study 3 found that both reply time and message length impacted job candidates' likelihood of being hired.

@krefeldschwalb.bsky.social et al clarify why #behavioralScience can get such mixed results.

Like me, they find effects vary by
- participant source
- manipulation intensity
- cognitive variables (like attentiveness)

David Fang et al. found that talking about one’s past evoked more interest than talking about one’s future.

The abstract mentioned #Tinder chats, #Zoom conversations, first-person #news, and experiments.
