A Just Asking Questions Effect for spreading false information.
This thread is an overview of my lab’s research that I presented at Psychonomics this morning. #psynow24

TLDR: Getting people to generate their own false answers leads them to believe that info. 1/

Here's the thing. I am a lucky person and pay a fair bit in taxes. I can think of no better use for my tax dollars than feeding children, because I think all people are equally deserving of basic humanity.

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

Watching clips from the Pam Bondi hearing yesterday. It’s so embarrassing.

Senators should be able to ask questions & demand answers from the Executive. They are representatives of the American people in Congress.

Bondi lobbing personal attacks in response. It was childish. She’s our top lawyer?

It's really upsetting to see the Trump administration calling in the military to police American citizens in American cities

On Sunday, the Secretary "of War" called the *Texas* National Guard to #Chicago (Illinois) and #Portland (Oregon)

May we all have courage to #resist this shit (+ #vote)

Chicago, man. It’s a city where the community looks out for one another.

I don’t think DHS should be trying to arrest folks without a warrant. Not only is it unconstitutional, it’s sloppy. The whole immigration enforcement under Trump has this feel to it. Cruel, often illegal, and sloppy.

I love walking through Princeton’s campus, especially on weekends when there’s good weather. It’s a ton of families, couples taking wedding photos, kids playing in the grass, friends picnicking, tour groups admiring the art installations.

It’s busy! In the best of ways. A public space of leisure.

If so, I want to hear from you, as I refine a project to archive & classify published school policies.

If you are on the academic job market this year, I think it's worth reading this post + consider inquiring about this at places you interview.

Schools that sign this "compact" will be–by nature of what they will now be exposed to–a very different place from the place you applied to. #AcademicSky

I thought I'd put the administration's proposed "compact" with universities in context, so I wrote the blog post below.

It's especially for journalists covering this story!

Many details about how the compact itself works and why the administration has retreated to this strategy.

This country would be better off if we listened less to Stephen Miller (including Trump)

All of Miller's posts sound like that conspiracy-loving colleague- no matter the conversation or question, he always finds a way to tie it back to some fringe idea that had nothing to do with the conversation
