The truth about this incident will emerge. Plenty of people took video; the shooting will be analyzed. A badge is not a license to shoot. Deadly force can’t be used unless an agent reasonably believes their life/the lives of other are at risk. Law enforcement’s job is to protect & serve.

I link to this excellent piece in my post for tomorrow.
Wrote a piece for @slate.com explaining that states have a long history of prosecuting federal officers when they allegedly use excessive force. Federal officers are only immune from such prosecutions when they act reasonably in carrying out lawful duties.

Yep, even less for Lisbon to Porto (which, by European standards, isn't even that fast of a train. Way faster than any of ours)
I came back from a month in Spain where I rode all over the country in high speed trains. The 600 mile trip from Barcelona to Sevilla cost me less than an Uber from Manhattan to JFK.
