I’ve posted on that ‘other’ site 8 yrs. Never gave in to buying a blue check. I posted on what I believed in, and on conversations in various disciplines (politics, sports, cinema, kitties) even as it became increasingly hostile. I established on @bsky.app last year in case the worst became real.

The “Ice Officers” bribed, er… recruited into Herr Trump’s and DHS Barbie’s private army have not been “professionally” trained. They would never meet standards military or LE qualifications, but do have a thirst to cosplay “Call of Duty” against our own people for cash bonuses.

Continued video of feds gassing protestors and CPD alike. In the chaos one woman came to a CPD officer asking for help for a relative that she says feds just grabbed.

Officer response: "We just clocked in. We don't know what's going on."

The ICE agents deploying these are people without necessary training, those who couldn’t cut it in police training or didn’t want to join the military.

They are in this to hurt people and play Call of Duty on our streets, deploying chemical weapons on our neighbors as if they’re pressing L1.

ICE just gassed a group a civilians near the Rico Fresh supermarket intersection on Armitage in Chicago - bystanders say this was in response for being heckled from the street.

This reminds me that entirely too much focus is (rightly) given to having Chuck Schumer step aside, when Hakeem Jeffries is just as bad.
It’s not about age. It’s about the ability to fight The Good Fight and hold the line against cruelty and evil without casting a side eye at your poll numbers.

I cannot tell you how grim the AI in higher ed situation is. Many of the students have completely surrendered to letting AI do their homework, badly, I might add. How do you fix this? Truly, what the hell do we do, beyond what grading can address, which isn't a solution?
