Fact: The scientific consensus on climate change is strong, with over 97% of climate scientists agreeing that human activities are the primary driver of global warming.

New research suggests that even brief exposure to climate misinformation can distort how much scientific agreement people think exists, and this shift tends to lead to less worry and lower support for...

“This is information that the taxpayers have already paid for,” said @relindsey.bsky.social. “This administration is trying to hide it and take it away from us. It’s an abuse of government. It’s a waste of resources. People should be indignant.”

The US Global Change Research Program's website, including all its sub-domains that host the National Climate Assessments and related reports, is now offline.

The 1990 Global Change Research Act (see below) mandates its research findings be available to all federal agencies & departments.

Since publication, some of the rebuttals have already been updated based on feedback received & 66 links leading to US-government sources in the references were replaced by permanently archived links to avoid link-rot for them if websites are moved or vanish.

All rebuttals: sks.to/sabin33-rebu...

On top of this collaboration with the Sabin team, German translations of all the rebuttals were created by a class at the Institute for translations at the University Heidelberg. These translations are all available via sks.to/sabin33-rebu...

Creating the rebuttals based on Sabin's report proved to be more complex and timeconsuming than initially thought as it for example entailed reformatting and adapting the ~460 references to our needs and to add many of them to our glossary.

After 33 weeks of highlighting one of the rebuttals to solar, wind and EV myths on Tuesdays, this phase of our successful collaboration with the @sabincenter.bsky.social came to a close recently. We recap the project in this blog post:

Berardelli Bonus: Today I taught a Climate Change 101 Class at USF to seniors A question that came up - Is it possible that global warming is caused by variations in the Sun's energy? Here we plot the changes in solar irradiance (sun's energy that hits the Earth) vs Global temperatures to find out.
skepticalscience.bsky.social
We also have a short fact brief to answer the question "Is the sun responsible for global warming?" with "No - Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, not solar variability, is responsible for the global warming observed since the Industrial Revolution."
