The “Dump Dan Goldman” account has been taken down by @support.bsky.team. It’s a shocking move because accounts like republicans against Trump and @dreamfornyc.bsky.social also exist to challenge incumbent politicians.

I wonder why Bluesky feels it necessary to suppress this account?

This week, we watched as Julie Menin failed her first litmus test as the presumptive speaker. We also watched the continuation of an all too common theme; the Committee on Standards and Ethics under Sandra Ung failing to do their job. This isn’t okay. We must stand up for all New Yorkers.
Hate Cannot go Unpunished at City Hall
The City Council must censure Vickie Paladino

New Yorkers are tired of the old politics of public toughness and private compromise, especially amid the Paladino discourse. Mamdani’s election begets a rising demand for more militant, openly confrontational governance from elected officials against bigotry in our city! It’s time to expel Vickie.

Enough is enough with these god damn guns. The rest of the constitution is sacrosanct but the second amendment did not account for machines of war being used on our college campuses by deranged individuals.

It’s not surprising that Indiana Republicans rebuked Trump’s authoritarian power grab. It wasn’t too long ago that Trump called on his deranged mob to storm the Capitol with nooses intent for Mike Pence, who was the governor of Indiana, and likely still friends with many Indiana lawmakers.

The Lower East Side lost a great man today. Frank Arroyo, the owner of Frank’s Bike Shop on Grand Street has passed away. For many generations of Lower East Siders including myself, he was the man you’d see to get your first bike.

Dan Goldman f’d around and took his lack of a mandate for granted (nearly 3/4ths of votes in the ‘22 primary were against him). Now he’s about to find out. Brad Lander is entering the race and will send Goldman packing. The LES will get its first leftist Jewish congressman since Meyer London.

Two years is an insane amount of time to wait for something like this. Feel like this calls for a @chiosse.bsky.social “why shit ain't working.”
Two years later this is JUST coming to a vote?!

I mean, it’s better than the 8 years I had to deal with but accountability should not take this long.

Some interesting observations from the write in vote totals.

- Jalen Brunson: 27 votes for mayor, 22 for Public Advocate. 11 for Comptroller
- 1 vote for Frank Nitlikina to be Comptroller
- 1 vote for in Rita Joseph in Chris Marte’s district
- 4 votes for Chris Marte in Harvey Epstein’s district

Stay safe
NYC: ICE is staging at Centre and Howard St. Get down there if you can.
Happening now near Canal Street, federal agents had been staging inside a fed owned parking garage, now being confronted by a group of protesters. masked agents are looking on from above.

I'm thankful for the fact that you'll be voted out in June.
It was an honor and a pleasure to spend this last week across the district sharing meals, handing out turkeys, and celebrating with the incredible community organizations and volunteers who make these events possible.

I hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving!

Donald Trump putting guardsmen in harms way for his vanity project of “projecting strength” is shameful. Two brave men who aren’t able to see their families tomorrow at thanksgiving.

ATTN ZOHRAN SUPPORTERS: Councilwoman Julie Menin, seen as a front-runner to be next speaker, is positioning herself to be a roadblock for Mamdani’s affordability agenda. She cannot become speaker. You can help. Find your councilmember and call them to tell them that MENIN MUST NOT BE SPEAKER ⬇️⬇️⬇️📞📞📞📞

Hey @danielsgoldman.dg4ny.co, Jew from your district here. Stop using our shared identity as a shield against your corrupt and misguided politics. Calling this poster against Hillel anti-Semitic undermines the very real threat of anti-Jewish hatered, and I’ve had enough. So has the district.
Whatever you think of the situation in Gaza, Jewish students on American college campuses have nothing to do with it.

My office has been coordinating with The New School & I’m grateful for their immediate response.

There should be no dispute that this kind of antisemitism has no place in our city.

Are we gonna act like this is normal? NY City Council Member Vickie Paladino is an unhinged danger to her colleagues. Here she is fantasizing online about shooting people. I’m sure that being a Council Member is hard enough without a violent co-worker. This makes a ULURP hearing seem palatable.

Hakeem Jeffries voted to condemn socialism. Does that mean he’s giving up his district office in Coney Island’s Amalgamated Warbasse Houses? Those co-ops were built by Abraham Kazan, a loud and proud socialist, for socialist labor union workers. He should learn history.

The shocking xenophobia coming from the British Home Secretary, who hails from an immigrant family herself, shows how far the Labour Party has fallen down the right-wing crater under Starmer. Britain colonized half the world. They can’t be surprised when migrants seek refuge in the UK.

Better leadership is possible. @shahanafrombk.bsky.social and @bradlander.bsky.social are proof that polarization isn’t the norm; we must condemn the leaders like Dan Goldman who fuel it. As a Jewish New Yorker, it’s inspiring to see unity like this — lord knows we need it more than ever.

Dan Goldman tries to act like a loyal Democrat, but he got caught in 4K grinning ear-to-ear next to MAGA Republicans at an AIPAC fundraiser. NY-10 deserves a loyal Democrat who doesn’t support genocide and won’t side with MAGA to do so. Join the movement, follow @dumpdan.bsky.social.

What is happening in Fulton & Elliot-Chelsea houses is cruel and inhumane. This is no way to treat NYCHA residents, who suffer enough from a mismanaged housing system as it is, during the beginning of the holiday season. Shame on the elected officials who sit back idly as this injustice persists.
NYCHA is Suing Chelsea Seniors for Money Damages
Even for NYCHA, the public housing authority so incompetent that it is under federal monitorship, this is a new low.

Look, real politicos know that Senate party leadership doesn’t have control over their party in the way that the House Speaker and leaders do. But we do know that the communication and messaging coming from the Senate Democratic Leader is falling short, and that’s why we want a change of the guard.
