Nearly finished. A few minor tweaks to the paint and I need to decide on the framing before I go and cut a full mat for the piece.

Shout out to @distractable.bsky.social for the mini easels. They are great for this.

I currently have Music ready to start painting and I'm doing some tweaking to Dance to make it fit the final image I want a bit better.

Most of that I can do with just trimming a bit and adding a bit, but the upper left corner might need a full rework to create the framing effect I'm looking for.

In addition to sculpting and painting my own Mucha flats, I'm really enjoying working on these two that Oroborus Miniatures makes

Zoomed in on the wonderful massively high resolution scan on their website and it appears the ground he was working on is a grey green, so that's where I have started.

New project started. Been wanting to do this one for a long time. Based on a self portrait of Vincent Van Gogh, I plan to use the one in the Chicago Art Institute as my primary reference.

I literally just put together a ridiculously large selection of robot images for a convention party whose theme was Rise of the Machines. I miss typed the Risa, and now I wish I'd done that party instead. So have a Hedonism bot in honor of Risa.

And because I'm a perfectionist I tweaked the shadows a bit to add a little bit more dimension. Want to keep it feeling flattish to mimic the original illustration, but still want it to feel internally consistent given how my art has diverged from the original.

I started putting together some dioramas made from flats. Unfortunately because of how shiny they are and the lack of depth it's very hard to get decent pictures of them at this stage.

(Yes I am also working on the Wyrd cats in the foreground which have taken way longer than I intended.)

Skywise is finished, which means I'll have at least two pieces for the MMSI show next weekend. Don't think I'm gonna get the still life done in time at this rate.

Getting a bit closer to something I'm happy with on the flowers l.

Today's harvest before I even touch the cherry tomatoes or the parsley.

The rodents started digging up the daffodils so I decided to have at a bit earlier in the season than I had originally intended.. this is only the two spots closest to the stoop and with me leaving the biggest deepest clump in. It was definitely past time to divide these out.

Finished it. Based on Alphonse Mucha's Evening Star.

Approximately 3 x 6", cast resin sculpt, brass trim, acrylic paint.

There is always either too much or too little zucchini. This year it was too much and my fridge and freezer have been over flowing.

I can feel fall coming in my bones at this point. If I'm lucky and I take decent care of the beds I'll have two more months of garden veggies even as the insane quantities of squash die back.

For those who haven't been following along this is me repainting this bust by DarkHorse from 2004.

Finished with Skywise. Time to repaint his tree.

Almost entirely from the garden. Cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and onion greens covered in a homemade sweet onion basil apple cider dressing made with onions and basil from the garden.

The garden and the CSA this year has been amazing, and sharing back and forth with my nextdoor neighbor has just made it better.

Two nights of lovely food:

Garlic lemon "butter" (Myoko's plant butter) chard, salt potatoes, and mushroom hamburger quinoa. That chard was incredible.

At this point I've dug out some photo reference of Dutch still lifes to inspire me and started sketching in the color underpainting.

Don't know if I will achieve what I'm envisioning. But if not it will still have been a worthwhile learning process.

But then it gets cast in resin and you can finally see the shape of the finished sculpt. Attach it to a backing and add paint.
