I think the general consensus is sacrifice the one with the most wealth. Give them a reason to race to the bottom instead of just failing a popularity check.

I literally just put together a ridiculously large selection of robot images for a convention party whose theme was Rise of the Machines. I miss typed the Risa, and now I wish I'd done that party instead. So have a Hedonism bot in honor of Risa.

I would seriously consider volunteering for that campaign.

As far as I can tell as a disabled person it's required discourse approximately every 3 years.

It boggles my mind that people underestimate how dangerously powerful a stupid joke can be in the context of anything that truly matters.

I've been trying to determine if Durbin has just gotten worse the last couple of years or if Ive just started paying more attention and didn't notice how awful he was before.

I hate Dick Durbin so much at this point.

I am deeply grateful that 16 year old me was not on the modern internet while learning how the world actually works.

One of those rooms is a massive puppy pile of people and cats. But we are all on our phones and happily texting with each other and those in the individual environmental bubble rooms.

In summary allergies and inflammation suck.

I hate that I did not learn this until my late 40's. I can only imagine how different my childhood would have been if I had known that.

It's right up there with the dairy allergy I didn't learn until my 30's. Learning and adjusting for that literally halved how often I got sick per year.

Jesus fucking Christ. Do not lie to your patients. Period end of story. This is my incandescent rage for 9 year old feral you.

Oof, yeah. I made it a page in and couldn't keep reading.

Civics and history info specifically.

Sorry, thats HCR, I have no clue who Blake Dodge is. Might have to go look them up just so I have some context.

She's a historian who posts daily letters about the historical political background of the current news. This tends to mean she has some annoyingly repetitive themes if you read her a lot, but what she is conveying is good highschool/freshman college level info a lot of people don't otherwise get.

Heh. I have a hard rule of no painting after 1am no matter how awake I think I am.
December 11, 2025 at 10:28 AM
I'm here. I hurt. I'm still awake at this stupid hour. Here's hoping tomorrow is better.

It did not help that 1) it was Arkansas where I had just transferred to from one of the top schools in San Francisco so holy shit culture shock 2) I was 5 of the 6 things you listed above. (I never got the BS about not living up to my potential, partially I expect because of the disability issues.)

Though I do remember them needing to ask a couple more questions to fudge my numbers up a bit. Which made very clear to me even at that age just how much bullshit those numbers were if they could be fudged like that. And I remember thinking how stupid it was that so much was just testing memory.

I have no idea what my deviations were on the test scores, but I could not relate to anyone at all in the gifted program I ended up in. They were all so immersed in the social BS that I gave zero fucks about at the time. Yay middle school and late puberty.

Also if you are even remotely decent at gardening you will be drying massive quantities and fresh dried herbs are not only significantly more cost effective (unlike most garden veggies) but taste sooo much better than what you can get in most stores.

Mostly I just muster joy in the little things to keep me going. Spite only serves me well when directly dealing with bureaucracy and petty assholes. May you muster whatever is needed though.
