Congress must do its part to check the president's excess, defend against autocracy, and protect the right to vote. The people must keep showing up too, as we will in court. We must fight those threats to our democracy that we saw in all their ugliness five years ago today. My testimony here:

Congress must demand accountability for the President’s continued erosion of democratic norms in the US. Maduro is an illegitimate and harmful autocrat but misusing US forces contrary to US and international law and eroding US democratic norms doesn’t make our nation or the world safer.
