People were already getting complacent when COVID was declared 'over'. Remain vigilant. Use common sense. Stock up on essentials before tariffs drive the cost of everything up and it becomes even more unsafe to leave the house, and that includes masks. www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-...

Avian flu is a conservation and public health crisis.

18,000 dead baby elephant seals. Terns having seizures on beaches. Outbreaks among livestock. Human deaths.

Draining research funds and gagging the CDC is dangerous for the whole planet. So are proposed mask bans. We need those n95s.

It's like 'dead birds flying': How bird flu is spreading in the wild
That's the way one scientist puts it — referring to how infected wild birds survive long enough to spread it to birds and mammals around the world. And that's a serious risk for human health.

A right-wing dark money group backed by some big names has launched a new public health “academy” complete with its own medical “journal.”

MUZZLED FACT—💡Last year, 95% of people hospitalized for COVID-19 weren't up to date on the latest vaccine booster.

📌And people who skipped the flu shot? They were ⬆️2x twice as likely to need medical care from the flu

P.s. Trump WH has pulled & banned these public health ads

Pandemics do not begin with official announcements.

They start with quiet deletions, missing reports, and assurances that there is "no cause for concern."

Pay attention.

Honestly, after the CDC's handling of COVID, w/ how they often made & altered recommendations & safe practices to favor capital over public health, I don't trust that they have the public interest in mind, & don't give much credence to their responses. 🤷‍♂️

Centers for Disaster Capitalism, indeed.
The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.

Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.
