Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

Congress Must Act After ICE Kills a U.S. Citizen in Minneapolis
Text SIGN PDMOGJ to 50409 — On January 7, 2026, federal immigration agents shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, on a residential street in Minneapolis. She was not the subject of any arrest, warrant, or investigation. City officials identified her as a trained legal observer—someone present to document law enforcement activity, not interfere with it. Multiple videos taken at the scene show agents surrounding her vehicle as it backed up and turned away. As the car moved away down the street, an agent fired three shots into the driver’s side. No officer appears to have been struck, and the shooter walked away uninjured. Video from moments afterward shows agents refusing to allow a self-identified physician to render aid while the wounded woman sat unattended in her car. Within hours, the Department of Homeland Security and senior regime officials publicly described the killing as “self-defense” and labeled the victim a “domestic terrorist.” Minneapolis and Minnesota officials—after reviewing the video—flatly rejected that narrative, calling it reckless, false, and unsupported by the evidence. This killing did not occur in isolation. Independent reporting and data compiled by The Trace show a documented spike in shootings and use-of-force incidents involving federal immigration agents during the Trump administration’s enforcement surges. Less-lethal weapons have been used against protesters and clergy. Detention populations have surged, facilities are overcrowded, deaths in custody are at record levels, and judges across the country—appointed by presidents of both parties—have overwhelmingly ruled against ICE’s detention practices. Congress was on notice. This outcome was foreseeable. What is happening now is not routine immigration enforcement. It is the normalization of militarized, anonymous federal policing in American neighborhoods, coupled with propaganda that demands the public abandon observable reality in favor of official statements—even when video evidence contradicts them. That is not public safety. It is a direct threat to constitutional government. At this moment, statements are not enough. Every member of Congress—Democrat and Republican alike—should be physically standing together on the steps of the Capitol demanding an immediate end to ICE’s deadly abuses. Silence in the face of a U.S. citizen being killed and then smeared to justify her death is not neutrality; it is acquiescence. This responsibility cannot be deferred to the next election. Congress does not need new majorities to begin oversight, compel testimony, or reassert its Article I authority. What is required now is the will to act—and the courage to do so publicly—before more lives are lost. Congress has both the authority and the obligation to act now. You must: • Hold emergency public hearings with sworn testimony from DHS and ICE leadership • Subpoena all video, communications, use-of-force policies, and after-action reports related to this killing • Prohibit masked or anonymous federal policing in civil immigration enforcement • Mandate an enforceable duty to render immediate medical aid • Restore meaningful civil liability and accountability for federal agents who violate constitutional rights • Rein in large-scale, theatrical enforcement operations that endanger the public and chill lawful protest Immigration enforcement does not place federal agents above the Constitution. When executive agencies kill civilians, deny medical aid, spread demonstrably false narratives, and face no meaningful oversight, the separation of powers is already failing. This is the moment for Congress to assert itself—publicly, visibly, and without delay.

An ICE agent saying "I don't care" and preventing an innocent woman who's been shot from receiving medical care are not the words or actions of officers lawfully protecting themselves and the community. These are the words of sociopaths happy with murder.

Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?

🖋️ “Impeach This Racist Supreme Court” hit 3,000 signers!

Impeach This Racist Supreme Court
Text SIGN PWRKRO to 50409 — The Supreme Court’s recent ruling empowering ICE and local officials to detain people off the street based solely on how they look or speak is a constitutional and moral disgrace. As Justice Sotomayor warned in her dissent, the majority has carried out “a power grab” that undermines democracy and “further entrenches racial inequality.” By upholding the power of immigration agents and police to target people arbitrarily, the Court has opened the door to legalized racial profiling and arbitrary imprisonment. This is not hypothetical. Latino and immigrant communities will be stopped, questioned, and detained for nothing more than speaking Spanish, having an accent, or looking “foreign.” The decision abandons equal protection and revives the cruel logic of Jim Crow policing — a system where the color of your skin or the sound of your voice determines your freedom. Sotomayor’s words are a warning: “The Court cements a legacy of inequity that our Constitution was meant to uproot.” The majority pretends neutrality while normalizing state violence against marginalized people. This ruling strips away hard-won civil rights protections, encourages racial discrimination by law enforcement, and undermines the very idea that justice is blind. It is racism dressed in legal robes. History tells us where this leads. From Dred Scott to Plessy v. Ferguson to Korematsu, the Court has too often stood on the side of oppression, cloaking injustice in legal reasoning. This ruling joins that shameful lineage, empowering ICE and police to target people of color as second-class citizens. The framers gave Congress the tools to confront such betrayal. Alexander Hamilton in Federalist 81 was clear: impeachment is the remedy when judges abandon their oath and corrupt their power. No justice is above the law. Congress must begin impeachment inquiries into the justices who have turned the Court into an engine of racism and repression. To allow this decision to stand without accountability is to legitimize white supremacy as constitutional law. That is intolerable in a democracy. The Supreme Court is supposed to defend the rights of all people, not sanction their oppression. If Congress fails to act now, history will record this moment not only as a judicial disgrace, but as a congressional failure. The time to impeach is now.
