Another thing that doesn't make me feel that much better is that for practical reasons I do not think you could enforce this retroactively.

I keep telling myself that any elected rep can introduce a bill for any nonsense at all, and this is probably just for attention, which actually doesn’t make me feel as reassured about Government as I thought it would.

Tangentially, a “I will believe you if you tell me you are ill, PLEASE do not give me details“ policy goes a long way to establishing trust and avoiding emails about vomit
