Just dropped a new video!
This @hackerboxes.bsky.social (#0117) is all about RFID: dual-frequency readers, writable tags, and an NFC dog tag you can program yourself.

It’s a great intro if you’ve ever been curious how contactless cards or badges really work.

Only 23 lines of code need changing to support almost _every_ AMD and Intel graphics card on the Raspberry Pi (on Debian Trixie). github.com/geerlingguy/...

Might cover this on a livestream Saturday, stay tuned!

If you know me for any amount of time I'll probably get around to telling you about the time I got to shake Dr. Jane's hand at my graduation in Liverpool in December of 2007. It was a complete and total surprise and I had zero idea she was going to be there. Pretty darn amazing. R.I.P

Fun prints from the Chautauqua Art Festival!

Needed some deflection yoke tweaking after putting the CRT tube back in. It's been two freaking years since I fixed the broken mounts with 3d prints and epoxy. #septandy
Photo shows skewed display on old Tandy trs-80 model iii CRT. Same display as the other photo but now tweaked a bit to look as expected.

If you were all "I wish I could have a window open that tracked how many total items are at the Internet Archive with a little emotion icon of @brewster.kahle.org next to it", you're in luck.

#VCFMW - Saturday afternoon, by the valet station:

Man 1: "What kind of event is this?"

Man 2: "Some kind of old computer sci-fi thing."

Man 1: "Can't be a sci-fi thing, too many of these people smell like soap."

You are 100% correct. As soon as you flip the switch a motor is spinning and waiting for your actions to engage various gears.

For #Septandy I tracked down an old Radio Shack Armatron 🤖
One of my favorite 80s memories. And yes, I had to repair it before I could play!

Happy birthday to the MOS 6502! It was 50 years ago today that people were able to buy their first samples of the chip from a jar in a hotel room at WESCON.

Here's my oldest 6502 from the 52nd week of 1975. Still works perfectly!

Shout out to the shady tel peeps at #vcfmw that helped me test my rotary butt set! In all the years I've had it and lugged it around I don't think I'd ever rigged it up to test with any atas/etc.
