DG's gonna throw at least one weird draw and double elim into king of gate, I imagine. not sure where my money's on for it though. maybe Shun-Kikuta on the off-chance Shun wasn't gonna be in the final. otherwise, possibly Riiita-Dia so KAI gets a bye in the second round.

having rewatched both, i think today's triangle gate match does indeed take Hyo Contra Hyo's place as my DG match of the year.

not sure what would be third. there's oceans between those two matches and everything else dragongate has done in 2025.

i do think he'd prob lose the final, but unbiasedly picking someone from the lower bracket to beat him is tough. i do feel like SMJ or Kzy could, but that feels a bit like my heart ruling my head.

i do think Shun should be cycled out of the singles main event scene for a bit, give him other stuff to do instead, but idk. he's still never been in a single KOG final so i could see him checking off that first.

I def think he's the most likely GJD member to make the final four, similar to Hyo in 2023.

Think he's probably losing to Shun in the semis but would be getting a couple big wins along the way for sure.

maybe im being biased with the lower half of the bracket? but depending on the unnamed entrants it feels like it's leading to a kzy-smj match, and whoever wins it i can see making the final/possibly winning.
