People would rather lie about the harm they’ve caused than admit to the real damage created because of it. They do this to protect themselves from facing the consequences of seeing real people getting hurt because of their actions. In doing so, they give themselves permission to do more harm.

Nothing is stopping them but decorum. If the Democrats really are the problem, they could sidestep them and the government would reopen immediately.

Hell, they don't need Democrats present for the vote. Quorum(the amount needed to do any business in Congress), is set at a simple Majority. So they could close the doors to the Dems and simply go forward without them.

Reminder as the Senate is set to vote again on re-opening the government that it is *entirely* within Republican ability to do so with zero Democratic votes.

The threshold is 50 votes, and they can simply set aside the filibuster for this vote if they so choose. They've done it before. Recently.

I think in a way, it is. When you got the old VHS tapes of the recordings of birthdays and family gatherings or cracked open the family photo album, you were able to see yourself in the past. I don’t feel like it’s that much different from how it was done back in the days before internet.

You know what? Screw it. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make one.

Detailed instructions in alt text.

No AI used.

Step 1: Use two rubber bands to bind three corks together. They should look similar to a raft.

Step 2: Stick a toothpick into the middle cork. The toothpick should be pointing upward.

Step 3: Cut out a small piece of construction paper. Stick the toothpick through the bottom of the paper.

OPTIONAL: Draw a picture on the construction paper! If you do this, make sure the picture is face down when you put it on the toothpick.

Step 4: Bend the other end of the paper and stick it through the toothpick. Voila! You have a sail and your ship is complete!

It's the "we have no input" part that's the problem.

The thing with bluesky using AI to moderate images isn't that it's training on them, think for 10 fucking seconds about it, but that they are saying "yeah we outsourced that shit entirely, we got no control over it. It says label, we label" etc
