I have been working on something that has precluded me checking my usual sources for #LGBTQ+ news here on Bluesky. I'm sure someone mentioned Mahmoud v. Taylor.

Therein lies the problem. This idea of us individually informing others is flawed. We can't counteract the massive professional disinformation machine in this way. We keep losing with this strategy. It's like telling Paul Bunyan to chop harder to catch up with the chainsaws. We need a new plan.

In 1989 at St Patrick's, ACT UP protested Cardinal John Cardinal O'Connor's comments on contraception. 4,500 people were outside while dozens stormed inside. "Loudly, I stood up on the pew literally blowing the whistle on centuries of horrible treatment by the church toward gays and towards women.
