if I were at all interested in defending the US military’s overreaches I wouldnt invoke a country where they installed pedophile heroin warlords into power and fed them children and viagra but then again I’m just some guy
And for those still going on about drug boat strikes - I wish you’d cared this much about Afghanistan. I don’t love the use of the military to kill drug runners, but it’s no worse than you’ve allowed for three decades. It’s a bit late for moral hazard pearl clutching now.

my only opinion on Parks and Rec is that its a little saccharine but mostly inoffensive and charming and would be a perfectly watchable show if azis ansari and ben schwartz’s characters had been run over by a mack truck in the first season

Communism is romanticised in the US because of deep pathologies of capitalism out there and the distrust towards anti-communist propaganda. But there's no collective memory of those events there, not many experienced it first hand. You realize it was an illussion when it's too late.
