Start your morning with two minutes of the testimony of Samuel Garcia, an average American who drove 3 hours to speak truth to power to the Texas legislature. Let’s decide that we are all Samuel Garcia. Get in their faces and make them listen. Mr. Garcia is a great American.

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

I rarely post personal things. But I need to talk about my 4-year-old niece, Hope.

She has a rare disease. A drug called elamipretide has helped her survive.

But the FDA recently denied its approval.

Now, her health hangs in the balance.

Please share her story & urge the FDA to reconsider. 🧵

Great essay (which like all such ia good to argue with). Magazines "never sought out but seemingly always at hand" (in my house it was "Smithsonian"): a mainstay of the lives of intellectually precocious pre-teens in a pre-Internet world.

We all know this doesn't "solve" the problem. But if nothing else, this shatters the assertion that all Democrats can do is to plead with Republicans since they are in the minority in Congress. It should be a reminder that we can, in fact, expect more from our elected leaders.

Do. Something.
Van Hollen’s trip to El Salvador is a form of embodied protest and helped put Trump’s illegal deportation of Abrego Gracia on the front page of the NYT two days in a row.

As Bayard Rustin once said, “The only weapons we have are our bodies, and we need to tuck them in places so wheels don't turn.”

If the stock market gets a whiff of the executive branch blatantly defying court orders, how long before it figures out that private property rights are endangered?
