I’ll give credence to any positive, negative, or mixed review of Wicked, unless it goes off on a tangent about how much better the book is

God, this takes me back to I think it was.. Season 2? of the Startup podcast, where they profiled this bizarro “Uber for dating” matchmaking company, and it was treated like a catastrophic failure that they settled into having a small profitable niche instead of growing into a behemoth
Just thinking about how the tech world created the derogatory term "lifestyle business" for any business that was stupid enough to have an actual product that made a sustainable profit

Part of the fun of having a celebrity crush on Himesh Patel is the number of times I’ve been like, “Oh yeah, so Hamish… oh no, wait, he’s the Other British Guy.”

I don’t know what more there is to say about the Kimmel thing, but I’m glad he referenced his friendships with Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, and Chelsea Handler during that monologue because boy oh boy do female comedians get a lot of shit and not a lot of regard.

Where you come down on Eddington will definitely depend on your tolerance for Ari Aster’s need to turn emotional overwhelm into literal monstrosity.

You’re watching a complex drama about community politics in tough times, then A Thing Happens and suddenly we’re in Hereditary 2 (derogatory).

I think we should compile a list of people who have managed to become the only person widely famous for what they do (e.g. Tony Hawk or Yo-Yo Ma) and study them.
This was fun last time, let’s do it again. Quote this with a take that has nothing to do with politics or Bluesky

Feels like "awareness" is relict from the time we didn't all have information about everything always bombarding us constantly. Maybe "promotion' is more apt. Anyhow, send your flowers to www.nami.org for providing free support services in communities across the U.S.

Although she is better known for her outlandish wigs, unusual singing voice, and questionable filmmaking, Sia is perhaps the most unheralded songwriter of her generation.

If you live in SF, write your Supervisor to oppose this. I wrote District 6 Supervisor Matt Dorsey. I would be surprised if he listens, but unless people let him know he has no reason not to acquiesce.
This is bullshit. Max is one of the most principled people in city government, who "exposed then-Mayor Breed’s practice of asking her appointees to sign undated resignation letters" to control them as puppets. The Lurie honeymoon is over.
Mayor Lurie moves to boot outspoken police commissioner Max Carter-Oberstone
San Francisco's new mayor is working to remove a reform-minded police commissioner, after he refused to resign.

I don't have much interest in the Grammys generally, but as a linguist I'm curious to see whether Shaboozey breaks the never-win curse of artists whose stage name is a phonetic respelling of their actual surname (cf. Jon Bon Jovi, Jason Derulo)

Thinking about the time one of my professors said, "Power corrupts but weakness does not purify." I always figured it was a quote of some renown but I can't find a cite.

Oh well, probably not relevant to politics today.
