How much for the pre-wash though?

+1. I regularly think back to his talk at #cfgmgmtcamp: “Why your config should have a schema”

Idk if you have checked this map: openinframap.org may have some info (or none at all)

One thing I'm noticing is that each rise seems to correlate with radiator noise for a few seconds

Going to do some testing. Saved this chart for my boiler currently pump speed 2. Already very different from the first chart top of thread. Maybe due to outdoor temps in Jan?

Is there a calculation to translate heat loss at ODT to heat loss at a different temperature? i.e. 4.2kW @ -3.3 == nnkW @ 6c

I am intrigued by these and also mis-using a2w for slight cooling with normal rads or "heat pump convectors" from Daikin or Jaga, even the likes of: phstore.co.uk/zehnder-comf... based on this post: bsky.app/profile/alan...
Thought it would be a good day to see if easy to switch our ASHP to cooling - turns out it is!

I know radiators aren't going to have enough output at temperatures above dewpoint, so this is just to satisfy curiosity (cycles on/off every 5-10 minutes)

In my (very) minimal understanding it's a balance. Too high and heat can't get out of the rads, too low can't get out of the boiler. Could well be boiler is too big and can't operate low enough; 25kW for a house with >5kW heatloss at -3.

👀 That's even my boiler!

Was looking into flow rates for combi boilers when I found they usually have a multi speed pump. I had a look at mine and found it was set to 3. I'm suspecting that could be causing this low dT and the cycling. It's going to be colder in a couple days, maybe speed 2 will be better?

Ah great. I came to a similar conclusion for mine. Was looking at the Axioma E4 from @openenergymon.bsky.social. I'll check with them and the heating engineer as I also need a service for this year.

Also, thanks for the video on integrating HomeAssistant with emoncms. Going to be a useful one.

Hey, I recently rewatched the video on you fitting the heat meter. How did you decide on the size (DN20/qp 2.5m3/hr I saw) which needed to be fitted? Considering one but only if it’s useful for now with a combi and then for ASHP later

Now that heating season has began, I'm hoping to have a blower door test done. That'll give me a proper "before" baseline, help more accurately fill in #PHPP and #MCS Heatloss calcs and may even be able to plug some of the leaks during the test.

Hadn't checked the data in a while, so this is last night:

−1 * ln((545−420)÷(1300−420))/9 = 0.22 ACH

AirPlay 2 added this in 2018 I think. Although some apps (and system audio on a Mac will still default to AirPlay 1).

Main reason I have HomePods, although my new Arylic LP10 also supports AirPlay 2 and multi room between it and a HomePod.
