They'll blame the democrats and move on to destroy the next pillar of our society.

I don't want to live to 70.

It's gonna take me a minute to get used to these.

I did go find an interactive topographic map of the area to see just how far up I am above the river that runs less than a ¼ mile behind our subdivision. I'm over 25 yards above the river.

As I said to my family in a text last night, there are definite advantages to living up in the hills, under the shadow of a mountain. I'm fine.

So we're on a holding position until that gets delivered.

Apparently I have used the circle cutting jig before, because I'm missing quite a critical, and rather large part from the box. I have no clue what I've done with it. Fortunately, the manufacturer provided replacement part numbers in the back of the instruction pamphlet.

"If they are our #1 domestic terrorists, we need to understand what they believe in. "What does it mean to be Anti-Fascist? What is Fascism? Now now, that's not the definition. Here, let me read it from the dictionary. Can you name other political organizations in history who were Fascists?"

As bad as this guy flopped and as good as the committee member kept the focus, I would really like it if they'd stop accepting the branding.
"Where does the moniker come from? What does it mean? Not who are they. What is the origin of the word? It's a shortening of Anti-Fascist, isn't that correct?"

Some people in this area are quite concerned over the amount of flooding we are expecting the next 24 hours. Others, like myself, realized that this is a perfectly acceptable reason to knock off early and rush home "before the roads close"

I think I've figured out the correct balance for this. Have a mentally challenging and complex job, but not enough work for a full 40 hour week. I do some heavy mental lifting on Tuesday thru Thursday and stare into the distance on Mondays and Fridays.

decided I need a new game plan. It's a logistical order of operations nightmare. So I did what I do best. I made an IKEA (but better) style "build" instruction manual with step by step pictures. Plus, I get to use 2 new tools, one of which I've had since my 1st project and never used.

But I figured it all out. I got the post, got the key hole, made the complex measurements to cut the slot. measured, tested, adjusted, measured again, and again. And then proceeded to completely boff it over a stupid concentration error.

I was correct in my assessment. Both the shoulder peg and the key hole were logistical nightmares. Using the drill press as a vertical lathe was indeed a challenge. Realized I had to rethink the order of operations and cut the key hole and containment slot 1st and then cut the profile of the knob.
