John Cleese may be anti-Trump, which is why you see his posts shared here on Bluesky. But he has long held problematic views. One bigotry leads to another, it seems.

Rest in peace, Robert Duvall. You had many famous roles, but you tried, bravely, to capture Fred Waterford, The Commander in the original film of The Handmaid's Tale.

Sharing this - the symptoms of stroke. Someone important to me didn't recognise loss of speech as a sign, to their cost, upsettingly so.
Know the signs: F. A. S. T.
Dropped side of the FACE
Inability to raise both ARMS
SPEECH slurred or impossible
Act FAST, call an ambulance

Susan Hall has said she has resigned from the Restore Britain advisory board.

Susan Hall, the Tory leader of the London Assembly and defeated mayoral candidate is on Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain board. Now he has founded a racist political party, she (or Kemi Badenoch) needs to decide if Hall can be a member of both.

He chose the path of radicalisation. Only 5-6 years ago he had fairly normal opinions. My sympathy is limited to the smallest violin.

We tried out this Chatwal's brand plain bhujia for the traditional sev topping. It isn't plain; it has a good spicy kick. Also, the tepary bean flour, gram flour blend leads to a light and crunchy texture. Available from Tesco.

When you are cooking, the rice flakes needed thorough washing, and they are basically partially cooked. So you only need to add a drizzle of water, and you let it steam, lid on.

Sunday lunch - poha. Rice flakes, cooked with potato, onion, tomato, peas, garlic, ginger. Cooked with Nigella seeds (khalo jeera), Fenugreek seeds, Cumin seeds (jeera), fennel seeds (saunf),
yellow and black mustard seeds, and turmeric. Toasted peanuts, coriander leaf, and bhujia/sev. #FoodSky

Whatever you think of Rosie Duffield's stance on trans rights issues, and personally I disagree and disapprove, Rod Liddle was wrong to mock her for talking about domestic violence. Rank misogyny. With a heavy dusting of Islamophobia.

Rod Liddle also wrote this victim blaming tripe - sometimes women share the blame of rape.

Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids", but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd". Someone whose opinions ought not receive either an airing or people's eyeballs. Why is he published?

Still a Conservative party member.
February 14, 2026 at 12:51 PM
Susan Hall appears to support Sir Jim Ratcliffe's racially charged "UK has been colonised" remarks, despite the dog whistle racism and numerical inaccuracy/illiteracy. He also praised Nigel Farage, which Hall impliedly agrees with; how does this reconcile with her being a Conservative party member?

Home made chicken karaage. A Japanese Izakaya classic. Chicken thigh chunks (skin on), marinaded in garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sake. Dusted liberally with potato starch and fried in the wok. #FoodSky #FoodBluesky #FoodieBluesky
