Don't get too excited. The compromise is coming.
It's the "Go to horny jail" where one dog is hitting the other with a bat that says bonk, except the caption has been changed to "Go to means testing jail."

The amount of thought in Trump's speech barely goes above Brick's "I love lamp" scene in Anchorman.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Just get 200 pounds of dried soy beans, the farmers need you to step up your soy game.

Show that wall who's boss. I believe in you.

I joked that the "not fascism" side's main argument was "What are we, Germans and/or Italians?" Now even that joke argument isn't tenable.

I'm glad whenever I hear her work gets a wider audience. Keep recommending her book to everyone.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

To be fair, Lindbergh baby and limburger baby sound similar.

How long before they start this?
Homer Simpson wearing what appears to be thick glasses, but they are just to disguise that he's sleeping during jury duty. Saliva is dripping from the corner of his mouth.

Jesus.

(And "paid anarchists"? 🤔)

Turned out great.
A large round rutabaga cheese corn bread sits atop a pizza baking sheet. It's craggy and well browned on top, with some of the shreds of orange cheddar still visible. It's been cut into wedges and one is missing, as the photographer (me) ate a slice.

It feels very weird for me to feel even mildly pro-pope, but here we are.

Bari feels deep solidarity with these cops because they both represent groups getting paid too much for what they do.

Adjusting a recipe so part of dinner tonight will be rutabaga cheese cornbread. Yes, some of you (especially if you're from the south) are giving me side eye. We'll see if that's justified, or if I make something delicious, soon enough.

Are you going to be there too?

Boss: Me?! Oh, haha, fuck no.

I also really wish people would say we should have a robust safety net, generous parental support, and so on because they're inherently good, not because they'll lead to more kids.

Also, I'm not willing to go straight to avoid paying the childless gay tax.
