@aram I'm ever so far from being a millionaire but I just spent so long reading a novel in the bath that I only found out what time it was when my partner came in to brush her teeth.

@ai6yr I'll do camping in snow ten times before I'll do camping in rain, and I've done plenty of both. Agreed on your broader point - there's just way too much "this thing right here" practical knowledge that you can't get any other way than for someone to show you.

This came after I was already pissed at it for the way LLD macros can't be set as optional, so you have to write javascript preprocessing rules in order to seek out missing items from the data and create empty ones if they aren't there. Fucking piece of shit, front to back.

Somebody at the listserv appears to have caught on and done the needful - the flood is over.

It's actually funnier than it seems. Some asshat created a large mailinglist with a bunch of randos in it, then signed up for a service using the "get support" email address for that listserv... and one of the randos in the mailing list is yet another company's support desk.
