I found this a good read. Much needed. Perhaps giving Trump a little too much “3D chess” credit but I think it captures how Trump views the world and his power.

Some good news for the TL. The carrot works better than the stick

When the students at this Maine high school got detention, they would sit in a classroom for a few hours after school.

A counselor had the idea to offer students an option to hike instead. After their first hikes, they found it improved their moods.
School offers hikes instead of detention. Teachers are seeing results.
“People seem really different in a good way at the end,” said Leslie Trundy, a Maine high school counselor and avid hiker.

Just heard someone say that if you aren't willing to get arrested or die at a protest you aren't serious about the cause and that's a) not true and b) not helpful

You don't need to have a death wish to fight for a better world, and anyone who says you do is throwing up a massive red flag

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility.

Three say they've been shot with pepper balls, sometimes while praying.

All say ICE is also violating their religious freedom, and one is arguing it in court. religionnews.com/2025/10/07/i...

(RNS) — Despite potential danger, religious leaders and faith activists have been a visible presence at Chicago-area ICE protests, some waving signs with slogans such as ‘Love thy neighbor’ and ‘Who w...

To be clear that’s what TRUMP wants.

And ideally with his name or face on it.

You can tell they don’t want to be there. They were just hoping to get a paycheck. Right now they are talking among themselves “You know all the DC group did was pick up trash.”
sondeerrf.bsky.social
This is the National Guard. They mostly signed up to show up to a part time job and get an extra paycheck (which they currently aren’t). At most they figured they’d have to HELP during a real local weather related disaster. Even now I bet they are HOPING a judge says they can go back home.

Stephen froze like a deer in the headlights and pretended to have connection issues because he unintentionally gave away the game plan.

“Plenary authority is complete, absolute power over a specific area or issue, with no significant limitations."

Show people this clip. This is an insane slip up.

Today a poll came out saying media trust was at an all time low. All CNN has to do is have some staffer delete this post but it’s been up for half the damn day. It’s that disdain for being corrected that is part of why they have lost so much trust.

Another incident of federal agents pointing guns at Chicago area residents.
Tweet from @laura_n_rod

Text: A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them.

Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.

It should be very very clear to everyone right now that the Attorney General was asked under oath if she possesses pics of the President with undressed teens and she refused to say “no.”

Interesting: Just reviewed all the federal charges from Chicago in the last week.

Just a single one was at the ICE location at Broadview.

A bunch were charges by Kendzie.

They have not yet docketed the alleged Latin Kings charge pertaining to Greg Bovino.

Draw on your own experience:

Is there any situation you've ever been part of, with you or anyone else in the hot seat, in which a person who does NOT have something to hide, reacts the way Bondi does?

I've been on trial juries that concluded "we can't trust that witness," after evasions like this

This exchange is quite something

It begins with Attorney General Bondi alleging that grand jurors who indicted Comey were "liberal" (Grand jury identities are to be secret)

And ends with her mentioning the "great picture" showing her and Trump and others at dinner

If this was a no, it would be really easy to say no.

Bondi’s ad hominem attack on Whitehouse is WAY more of an answer than she realizes.

Like take the comments from Speaker Johnson today on not paying furloughed employees. It should be treated, from the START, as unlawful and an attack on Americans. AND tied into all the other daily scandals. (Preaching to the choir here I know)
