If the democrats ever take back power, they need to crucify these republicans. Unfortunately, they won’t, so it will be up to us.

Whatever is in the Epstein Files is so explosive that the leaders of the Department of Justice are openly breaking the law every day to keep us from seeing it. (Just a reminder amongst all the other stuff flying around.)

The wrongdoing here was Trump’s—no wonder Republicans won’t let Jack Smith talk

Smith is a career prosecutor who followed the FACTS, not politics

I’ll discuss tonight on @weeknightmsnow.bsky.social at 7 PM ET

Jack Smith: “The investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in criminal activity — no one should be above the law in this country & the law required he be held to account”

Congressional Republicans like what Donald Trump did on January 6th.

They applaud it. They congratulate DJT on his crimes.

They would condone it happening again. They are willing to watch the demise of the United States because of their fealty to one lawless man.

Our neighbors are living in fear because of the violent and lawless actions of the Trump administration. But Republicans put forth a bill to increase funding for the Department of Homeland Security without any oversight or accountability measures for ICE and DHS.

In the closed door hearing, Smith was extremely deft in parrying aggressive questions and making Rs eat their lunch. His calm demeanor and especially his command of the facts repeatedly clobbered them. Jim Jordan et al may get buzzsawed at hearing if they deploy their typical tendentious bombast.

1/We are one year into the second Trump administration. Three to go.

To mark the occasion, I took a look back at what I was thinking and writing about a year ago. The most surprising takeaway is how predictable this last year we have lived through was from the outset.

Trump is busy invading and setting up to invade foreign countries all while screaming about the evils of supposed "invaders" he's "protecting" us from. He is the invader. He is the criminal.

It is important to acknowledge who is standing up and who is just trying to get by. Every day Americans are standing up while the powerful are mostly standing by.

Why aren't law firms standing up and sending lawyers to Minneapolis. Why aren't the corporations speaking out? Why isn't the media?

We all have a right to be angry at GOP voters -- that almost goes without saying. But I still maintain a special reserve of vitriol for people who can't be bothered to vote at all. They, by themselves, could have prevented this. They, by themselves, can stop this whenever they want to.

the mainstream media has been covering donald trump as a political figure for 11 years now. they know he is full of shit. they push headlines like "trump rules out using military force to take greenland" even though they know the context of his rhetoric.

it is a deliberate misinformation tactic.

I recently heard historian Robert Kagan say: “What's at risk right now is literally our democracy in the sense that I don't think Trump is going to allow free and fair elections in 2026.”

My job is to fight in court to prove him wrong even while I fear he may be right.
