tg16 is swag but pce is aura, nes is aura but fc is soul, snes lost aura, n64 has soul but kneecapped by no aura or swag. would swap ps1 and ps2. model 1 md specifically is aura but NOT model 2 and onward. 3ds though lacking in swag has a quaint/cute quality that is equivalent

shouts out to the handful of titles i have installed rn. while i dont think any shmup yet has full on replay takeover this genre deserves credit for the parameters and training conditions they do afford players, and singleplayer interactions are more reproducible thru stating anyway

konami surprisingly bundles a number of resources in with select gradius titles. galaxies on gba had training starts from every single checkpoint in the game and had recovery route demos for each one as well. this doesnt always happen, though. also shouts out to origins having hitbox display

stage select alone isnt ideal but is standard offering, off the dome i know cave and moss offer training modes with parameters like powerup level and bomb count to accompany stage select. imo credit feeding is a sort of compromise that at least allows all players to see and practice all patterns
