Dark Souls 2 absolutely shows its strict resource limitations by how weirdly narrow and vertically-sliced a lot of it's areas are. Still an absolutely awesome game, but you can see how it tried to do what Elden Ring eventually did, just with much more limited PS3/X360-era tech

Yeah, this is literally what it's like living in Phoenix, or its suburbs. There are detached regular-ass houses right next to commercial districts, or right across the street from places like Mill Ave in Tempe.
