'Friends of Queen Anne' left a flyer on my porch warning about the One Seattle Comprehensive Plan and begging me to contact Councilmember Kettle in opposition. Plot twist: I'm emailing Kettle to enthusiastically support the plan instead. Thanks for the reminder, neighbors!

Humans are very weird and mostly do things because the people around them do them. This is true for me and you and everyone.

Interpreting bland, default human weirdnesses as repugnant, intentional immoralities will 100% make you miserable while alienating people from your ideas.

Significant change doesn't come from coercion, but from understanding. Understanding requires patience and finding a shared identity with those we hope to persuade.

@qagggy.bsky.social I’m a QA neighbor that’s been following you for years now and I just decided to have the courage to see if you’d like to grab coffee. I’m curious to get to know your story.

Seattle must embrace bold zoning changes in Queen Anne and similar neighborhoods to preserve our city's promise for future generations. We need a lot more housing in all parts of Seattle. Seattle isn’t full. Queen Anne isn’t full.
