"While $135 billion is spent annually on biodiversity conservation, up to $3.3 trillion in public subsidies are directed toward sectors that harm nature.

This imbalance mirrors the broader issue of wealth concentration."

Great @theecologist.org piece on making the connections around nature loss.

It's the same disastrous story in so many parts of the world: massively species-rich native ecosystems transformed into just grass for livestock or monoculture tree plantations.

Where is the understanding that our planet functions as a SYSTEM (the biosphere), and that this is killing it?
Same story in Aotearoa New Zealand.

People think what we have here is some green paradise but it's largely become a giant field for grazing or pine forests for timber

Native bush is glorious, I wish we saw more of it

An "accidentally rewilded" 377-acre UK farm is now home to many threatened species, including turtle doves, warblers, 11 bat species, orchids + butterflies.

Such examples prove how nature can recover when we let it, and that rewilding reverses nature loss. 🌍

Hi BlueSky friends (new and old)...

We're a grassroots campaign calling on the Britain's biggest landowners to rewild their land!

We'd love to connect with everyone who believes in a fairer, wilder Britain.

Make it wild & make it ours!
