Important message about Section 504 for those of you who haven't heard about the lawsuit filed by 17 states. Read through- #Section504 #ADA #disability
My guess is after this they’ll deny and kick people off of disability payments.
Section 504 prohibits discrimination against disabled people & guarantees equal access to anything (services, programs, buildings, etc.) that receives federal funding. It paved the way for the ADA. The sit-in that got it passed is an extraordinary moment in US history.

I am incandescent with rage.

Medicaid cuts would hurt many families who have a loved one with a disability. Roughly 4.5 million people use Medicaid funding to STAY OUT OF institutions.

Time travel to 1960. Jack Kennedy is running for president. In office, he will start a national conversation about "mental retardation".
Back to 2025- this president hates Medicaid, the component that keeps people with disabilities out of institutions. #protectmedicaid #disabilityrights

This is beautiful. Going to try this at home when the almost instinctual response IDK is given.
“My partner teacher does this lovely thing when a student in his class gives him an ‘I don’t know’ response. He simply says, ‘Tell me something you do know that might be helpful.’” —Tom Brassington, #Teacher #EduSky

This is not unique to NYC schools. The language, including the frequent use of acronyms, challenges native English speakers. Going through an IEP team meeting without understanding educators and administrators? No way. #disabilityrights #specialeducation

"💡 Key Finding:
Students with IEPs are often pulled out of science for other services, reducing access to critical STEM learning."

New Research Alert!
We surveyed general education teachers nationwide to see how science is taught to students with LD in 4th & 5th grade.

💡 Some students get 5x more science time than others.
