That statement isn’t helping save anything. Just going to make purists 😡. He should have said that he felt he can best market track and if this grows they’ll hopefully include field in the future.

What a disappointment. How long until WA accepts the fact that having certain years without a world championship for EVERY track and field event is stopping our sport from growing. We, as fans, want to see all the best athletes compete, every year, period.
World Athletics unveiled the events that will be part of its first-ever World Athletics Ultimate Championships in 2026.

What a disappointment. How long until WA accepts the fact that having certain years without a world championship for EVERY track and field event is stopping our sport from growing. We, as fans, want to see all the best athletes compete, every year, period.
