Innocent people are being brutalized, ripped from their families & denied medical attention.

In addition to Trump & the Republicans who made the policies & #ICELawlessness & thuggery, there are giant private prison companies engaging in this depravity.

Who should pay for these human rights abuses?

Times are tough, and some of my paid subscribers have had to cancel lately due to financial hardships. I get it, and I wish for better times for us all. Unfortunately, paid subscriptions are now dipping into unsustainable territory. I am hoping to get eight new paid subscribers before the new year.

A WBEZ and Sun-Times analysis shows detainees initially booked at Broadview were nearly twice as likely as detainees nationwide to self-deport. Legal experts said inhumane conditions, coercion and a lack of legal counsel were contributing factors.

DOJ official Todd Blanche promised to dump his crypto holdings no later than 90 days after his Senate confirmation in March.

But about a month into the job — before divesting — he ordered an end to investigations into crypto companies.

The biggest divide in America today is not between “right” and “left,” or between Republicans and Democrats.

It’s between democracy and oligarchy.

The old labels — “right” and “left” — prevent most people from noticing they’re getting the shaft.

Know the truth.

This is all true. And the biggest danger Vance poses is that he is a walking skinsuit for the tech bros. Peter Thiel created his career. Elon Musk is one of his biggest boosters. If Vance is sitting in the Oval, the technofascists will wield an amount of power that will dwarf anything we've seen.
When Trump dies-- could be at any point, who knows -- we get Vance.

They'll blame a lot of stuff on Trump AND try to fast-track an even uglier Christofascism.

We must be preparing for this now & organizing accordingly.

So there is already an ai-generated whitewashing campaign to bury the name of the Muslim man, Ahmed al Ahmed, who disarmed one of the Bondi Beach shooters, and replace his identity with a white guy name and that’s why even a thimble of our potable water powering this tech is too fucking much.

UPDATE — For those who want to help, there’s now a way to donate directly to the 7500 South Shore Tenants Union to help with emergency relocation costs as residents “vacate in one of the snowiest winters in Chicago’s history.”

When the gvt let SNAP lapse before Thanksgiving, Chicago showed up to help those in need. For too many, benefits still haven’t been restored. As we go into the holiday season, food banks continue to need donations and volunteers to support our neighbors
