I have absolutely no idea who this woman "Bari Weiss" is. Who? Am I supposed to have heard of her? I’m sorry, but I haven’t

You nailed it with B. I also contend that American sports fans gravitate toward situational sports — everybody knows bottom of the ninth, bases loaded; 4th and goal from the 1, etc. Even hockey has power plays, basketball has the shot clock. Soccer doesn't have any of that

Ffs they've been saying this for 30 years. IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: The actor Matthew McConaughey said he expects soccer to become the U.S.’s third most popular sport behind football and basketball. “I think this World Cup is going to do more for MLS soccer than anything has.” nyti.ms/3KSBxg0

I mean, if the #RedSox win, great. But this ain't 1978, folks. It's not even 1999
sportswritersinc.bsky.social
Sorry, just not all that excited for the #RedSox-#Yankees game tonight. Boston finished FIVE GAMES BEHIND New York. The only reason they're in this position is because MLB changed the rules

Not buying into the manufactured drama

what's the stupidest/randomest Simpsons quote that lives in your head rent free? Mine is the urge to say "you said go to bread" every time I am about to head to bed.

Man the passive voice rules. Why say "Giants fire Bob Melvin" when you can say "Bob Melvin has been fired by the Giants"?
sportswritersinc.bsky.social
You cannot support the "each team gets the ball" rule and complain about ties #NFL
sportswritersinc.bsky.social
Nope. Nothing wrong with a tie

It wasn’t pretty — not many of them have been lately — but through a gritty team effort, the Red Sox topped the Blue Jays for another win, keeping pace in a wild AL playoff picture.

“At this point, winning games is all that matters.”
