When I lived in Portage Park, I lived in a granny flat above my grandmother's bungalow. For those three years my family still felt comfortable with my grandmother living "alone" in the house she lived in for 50+ years because I was right upstairs.

I'm always a little surprised by Quinn (but not REALLY) bc in the bungalow belt area where I live I hear so many people talking about the challenges of aging in place, launching kids, and creating more affordable housing w/specifics about how their homes could adapt.
I recommend reading @heathercherone.bsky.social's article because it mentions the prejudicial and despicable language that some alders were using about migrants because that was somehow relevant to ADUs

@starlinechicago.bsky.social I saw somewhere that one of the proposed reform bills would allow NITA to have as a goal the growth of the transit user base, is this really something they’re not allowed to consider currently?
