Thousands of people on the mall today peacefully expressing their support for democracy and opposition to autocracy. Lots of love for www.veteransforpeace.org and Capitol Police.

Harry Dunn said he had a panic attack on the way over because the last time he saw such huge crowds was January 6th 😢💔

@kenmartin.bsky.social please organize town hall meetings in GOP districts and publicize widely so all know to come. Focus on districts where GOP reps cheer Trump loudly but are too afraid to meet their constituents. We can do this!

It's astonishing that a private citizen with no more authority than you or me has simply taken over entire government departments and arrogated to himself powers to shutdown agencies and fire/hire public servants. At @theunpopulist.net by @andycraig.bsky.social

News Analysis: Soft power is out. Hard power is in. Since returning to the White House, President Trump has demonstrated that he prefers to bludgeon, not bargain, his way to foreign policy goals.
Trump Favors Blunt Force in Dealing With Foreign Allies and Enemies Alike
With Canada, Mexico, China, Colombia and the Middle East, President Trump has wasted no time threatening to use American might to force recalcitrant countries to back down and do what he wants.

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

"California paid in a lot more [to the federal government] than it got back — $83 billion in total. So did Washington state and much of the Northeast. Most red states were in the reverse position, getting much more from DC than they paid in return."

It has its flaws — what place doesn’t? — but it plays a big role in America’s greatness
