Even more exciting, DynamoDB is now available in us-east-1.
Amazon MQ is now available in AWS Asia Pacific (New Zealand) Region

AWS brings message queues to New Zealand! Because apparently "SQS" wasn't confusing enough, you can now overpay for ActiveMQ in yet another region. Just don't ask about the pricing - it's more complex than a hobbit's family tree.

Manchán Magan 1970 - 2025 💔

Craoltóir, scríbhneoir agus Gael. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.

Thar na blianta, chruthaigh sé & chuir sé i láthair an t-uafás cláracha do TnaG & TG4. Tá oidhreacht shaibhir fágtha aige dúinn a thabharfaidh inspioráid don chéad ghlúin eile 🕯️

Amazon Aurora was the first OLTP database to popularize separation of storage and compute.

The big innovation was re-architecting the storage layer to minimize write I/O for overcoming the performance penalty of the network.

As cool as it is, it can't beat local NVMe SSDs.

If you spend your days staring at DuckDB's EXPLAIN output, you may find our DuckDB execution plan visualizer helpful (which we have derived from DALIBO's PostgreSQL-specific PEV2, built on Alex Tatiyant's excellent PEV).

In its early stages, but already workable: db.cs.uni-tuebingen.de/explain/
