Out this evening to the square, so should be good….recognition skills will be needed to spot folk….due to woolly hats/darkness….at least until the fireworks kick off
Have a fab Hogmanay all!

It’s always joyful to see the regenerating woodland and rather splendid ground flora

Good that they are being extremely clear about the direction of travel

Busy afternoon clearing the plot with a fellow Trustee, getting ready to build some affordable, community led homes for our community
It’s feels a long way from the initial meet up in April 2022 when we felt we had to just try to build some homes
It’s been a steep learning curve

Beware voters in Scotland no matter what Labour say we can’t trust them on this
A Labour government in Scotland would have to make sure we were the same as England & introduce tuition fees again in Scotland
Look at what Starmer promised 👇

My walk there (it’s my local patch) diverts up old paths in the oak woods above Tenandry Church. So up the zig-zag path to Creag na h-Uamha and the ruined settlement then loops down. Much quieter and great views

At 8am there were 5 trees across the road to Aberfeldy, I stopped to help clear one. The others we could get past. A few guys were up a tree removing a hanging branch but waved us past
By 9.30am on the way back, all the trees were cleared…got to ❤️ rural Scotland

These turbines are (like most being built onshore now) 220m tip height
The tip of each blade is dimpled like a golf ball to reduce drag & the serrated rear edge is for noise reduction
Blade length about 80m

England the EA has a 3-yearly sampling program (nothing like keeping on top of monitoring 🙈) the ‘latest’ data I can find is from 2019 (???) - it’s only 16% of rivers are good 0% are high

Because we passed it, we decided to pop in to Buckfast Abbey, where the Benedictine monks brew Buckfast Tonic Wine
‘Buckie’ is notorious in Scotland.
it’s cited in huge numbers of violent crimes by Police Scotland.

This could be happening across Scotland, no deer fencing/tree tubes all it takes is a reduction in deer numbers
Not a huge fan of big landowners, but chapeau to Wildland Cairngorms Connect showing what’s possible

PKC has three Common Good properties in Kinross listed
Your post reminded me to look up Aberfeldy, but I’ve only lived here 20 years so I’m not 100% on what the local memory has as the Common Good
