I found this to be a timely quote, certainly applicable in this era:

"When any real progress is made, we unlearn and learn anew what we thought we knew before." Henry David Thoreau

I think I have coined a new term. It is not patriarchy or matriarchy, but hatriarchy (hate-riarchy) And, apparently it is new as AI keeps wanting to change it to the others. Please start using it so Webster will add it to the lexicon. And, thank you!

Keep the drum rolling: Epstein files! Epstein files! Epstein files! Don't let up on this!

I am doing the hardest thing a pet owner can do for their elderly pet. I am saying goodbye.

Apparently, the only thing that Americans agree upon is: Release the Epstein Files.

I continue to read "The Reckoning". New term: "Sophiacide" - the killing of knowledge. A movement by southern whites to prevent black freed people to become educated. Kind of happening now, only with everyone, yes?

@redredryder.bsky.social I totally agree on the garlic!

Brene Brown (paraphrased) cont...disengagement is result of leaders who are not living by the rules they preach. And in an uncertain world the people they lead are desperate for absolutes. She wrote this book in 2012; not sure if she was prescient but sure does sound like it.

Brene Brown says (Daring Greatly): "Cruelty is cheap, easy, and chickenshit." She was not referring explicitly to DJT but we all know it does apply.

Catching up on the news...apparently our slogan is changing from "IN GOD WE TRUST" to "IN PEDOPHILES WE TRUST", as clergy should not be reported per DOJ.

Epiphany. Re-reading "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown. Among other insights, criticism (especially anonymous, as in social websites) comes from people trying to deflect shame from themselves. Their comments are a reflection of their own deep feelings of vulnerability. They deserve pity.

I am with someone at an event, talking about the protest that unfortunately, we are missing. I said: "I hope we just keep on protesting" and she said "We need a protest culture, not protest events." Solid statement.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: bake a favorite flavor pie for each parent. You have 8 hours. You may access the internet for advice but for the most part must use a recipe, your knowledge, and experience. There are no do-overs or gimmies. GO!

Still reading "Weapons of Math Destruction". Credit scores used as a proxy for employment, as a sign of trustworthiness, dependability. I wonder what the buffoon's scores are?

Question: I was at grocery store. Cashier was very polite ("please, thank you, find everything okay?") and EVERY TIME someone said "thank you" to her she said "of course!", same intonation pattern, same, same, same. I have thoughts but not sure what to make of it. Is this a thing?

Full confession: I have never seen any episodes of Ted Lasso. Until today. And now I have a binging situation. Wish I had started earlier today!
