You ever check out the Icelandic version?
Basically, after 90ish years, they figured out that the Icelandic translation was wildly different. It's now called Powers of Darkness. It's pretty good.

So my buddy came over this evening and after a few drinks we watched The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Holy shit, it was way better than we expected.
Also, you're never going to convince me the Saw franchise doesn't owe its entire premise to this film. That final scene was pure Saw challenge.

Even then, I've watched that one player who simply refuses to join in whatever the rest of the group has decided to do (adventure, theme, etc.) make it all about them and suck the fun out of the room.

I feel the GM should come up with a decent hook. But the player needs to come up with why their character accepts it, even if it's FOMO because the rest of the group is going on the job.
GM/Player communication is always essential.

There's a thousand blog posts and videos that ask "What is the OSR?" or "Is This Game OSR?" and the simple answer is if the book reeks of cigarettes or not.

It's amazing how tiny the actual industry is. Hollywood might have 6 degrees of separation, but the TTRPG scene is 3 at most.

They made it look at feel like they had a much bigger budget than they had. Also a lot of tiny details that make it feel like a lived-in and much larger world.

If you're ever lookin for another good blue-collar sci-fi film to enjoy and harvest for game ideas from, I highly recommend Prospect.
It's the first in the 'Pedro Pascal is a tough dude who adopts an orphan in a hostile world' series.

This is one of those photographs where all I can think is, "At no point in my life will I ever be half as cool as this guy right here."

Also a popular film with Traveller TTRPG fans

Possible for the identification portion. If there was, there was also a healthy dose of human stupidity. It's a dangerous mix.
I only hope no careflights had to be grounded during the air traffic shutdown

Dweebles is the most Dean, TBH, but he's also got the most stage presence, so he'd be taking Hank's role. Jack would be taking Dermott.

The "Jonathan is a WW1 vet with PTSD" theory is one of my favorites and firmly cemented in my head-canon as absolute fact.
