Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust.
In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)

#Orwell’s 1940 review of Mein Kampf is an astounding read. It is very educational to read literature from just before historical events. In here we find that up to 1939 Hitler was regarded rather favorably by many, for reasons we might recognize today. Frightening: bookmarks.reviews/george-orwel...

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.
We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.
2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

Misschien enige troost rond alle vervuiling door het vuurwerk, door de stevige wind is ~75% van onze elektriciteit nu zonder luchtvervuiling. Oftewel, de kolen- en gascentrales staan weinig uit te stoten. Data van ned.nl/nl/dataporta...
