These are real images of exoplanets.

Four super-Jupiters, imaged 10 times over 12 years around a star 133 lightyears away.

These are real, giant worlds, out there in the dark.

And we can see them.

I don't know what to feel about all this anymore. Many of us were shouting from the rooftops that Starmer is TO THE RIGHT of the Tories but people were happy to vote for him to get the 'right' name in. I'm frustrated by the horrendous online abuse we all received for being right.

Good post below.
“Environmental defenders were wary of Starmer’s Labour party, though I don’t think anyone believed it would be worse than the Tories.”
So Labours approach to welfare is mirrored in their trashing of environmental protections. No consultation, no listening to experts.
Horrific.
1. Because this issue is critical, but has received remarkably little coverage, here's a thread pulling out the key themes from my article yesterday, on the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, which puts decades of environmental protections to the torch. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I've been posting about it for a while now, & the UKMO/multi model output have been sticking to their guns in indicating a warmer, more settled spell of weather for the end of April

We could well be challenging the #warmestdayoftheyearsofar early next week..24C Northolt 12.4.25
A spell of much warmer weather is on the way next week 📈
As the jet stream becomes more amplified this weekend, a 'blocked' weather pattern will develop across northwest Europe - but how long this lasts for is uncertain

I'm undecided whether these are wall clouds or shelf clouds. To their right and off this picture was a weak shelf, much much longer and also much longer lived.

I am tired of fighting.

When my boys were in school I was always fighting to have their voices heard, to have their needs met.

Fighting with ‘professionals’ who told me they knew better than I did.

A headteacher that told me I was looking for excuses.

A local authority that didn’t want

There is an awkward situation brewing about the fact that, at one point, the ‘go to work, get your quals, get a great job and a nice house’ was, mainly, true. These days, the jobs and the houses are looking much further away…
I asked my teen why some of her friends have low attendance. ‘Because they don’t like school and don’t see the point. Or they have bigger problems.’ Shaming ch’n, schools and parents isn’t working. Any ideas for fresh approaches? #attendance

Yet this is exactly what Bridget Phillipson is doing to home education through her horrendous Children's Wellbeing (!) And Schools Bill.

5 of the "Difference from last year" here are more than our household income 😬

Either way, these salaries are excessive and inconsistent with the 'schools are underfunded ' narrative.
I genuinely cannot get my head around these salaries in the public sector when schools are struggling with tight budgets.
Exclusive: Our annual executive pay investigation has this year included 1,800 trusts, making it probably the largest ever analysis
