In honor of Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Aces visited a local YMCA to celebrate the importance of literacy.

Kids received Aces bookmarks and shared in the joy of reading with a special story time with Megan Gustafson and Pancake. Anyone want to guess the book?🤭🐶🥞✈️

When you live in a gerrymandered state, you can’t just vote better.

That’s the point of gerrymandering. To take away your vote and voice. To silence you.

We failed in letting people who hate us take over words we use in good faith and agreeing they are an insult. Being a warrior for social justice is good. Being liberal in our awareness of others and their needs is good. Being woke to the threats bearing down is good. Don't agree? I don't care.

I want all Democrats running for federal office to support the expansion of the SCOTUS should they become the majority party. 13 justices, one for each circuit. DC statehood and, if the people there want it, PR statehood as well. Time to start doing something.

Stoke fear. Exploit desperation. Suspend the rule of law. Fan brutality.

Every time the stronger brutalize the weak, it’s fundamentally the same playbook.

Our duty is to stand up to brutality.

Our moral obligation is to protect the vulnerable and hold the powerful accountable.

Protestors in Nepal overthrew the government in less than 48 hours due to corruption. They refused a curfew, spread protests across all cities, fought police in roaming street battles, burnt down politicians' houses, stole military weapons, stormed the parliament & burnt it, forced the PM to resign.

This is a simple one, and hardly enough to battle the deluge of ignorance, cruelty & anger, but it's something I do: When you get overwhelmed, do an act of kindness. Help someone in your neighborhood, volunteer in the community, visit an animal in a shelter or email back a fan. On busy days, donate.

How has it come to this: that private companies are licensed to abstract water from aquifers below parched regions, then sell it back in bottles to those who live & struggle there?
